Much of the value of MSMA membership is in the advocacy work we undertake for Missouri physicians here in Jefferson City. For over 100 years, MSMA has served as the physician’s voice in the capitol. We’re proud to be the standard bearer for the practice of medicine. No one is bigger; and no one does it better.
We strive to provide our members with opportunities to engage with legislators and decision-makers that affect your practice. For over a year, we’ve provided a weekly COVID conference call with the Director of the Department of Health and Senior Services. This year, we have begun holding Legislative Lunches on Fridays at noon, giving physicians facetime with various lawmakers. We had 14 elected officials participate in our 2021 Virtual White Coat Day.
Our advocacy on your behalf is not effective unless you are involved. Participate in these events. Volunteer for the Physicians of the Day program next year. Donate to MMPAC. A lack of participation leads legislators to believe that the MSMA legislative agenda is not important to physicians, so why should it be important to them?
If you are a member and are not receiving our advocacy publications, that means we don’t have your email address. Please contact the MSMA office with that information so that we can show you where the value is in your membership.
Involvement. Advocacy. Membership.
Thanks for being an MSMA member.
