Introduction: Silver-zeolite has emerged as an ideal molecule for imparting antibacterial and antifungal ability if incorporated in heat-cure denture base resin and tissue conditioners. However the toxicity of the molecule is yet to be ascertained to establish it as a safe molecule for incorporation. Therefore a toxicity test was performed in order confirm its biocompatibility.

Methodology: 5 different concentration of Silver-zeolite which have been previously established as having Anti-bacterial and Antifungal efficacy were evaluated using brine shrimp assay and lethal concentration value (Lc50) was determined.

Result: The LC25 (lethal concentration25) value was 1.6μg/ml, whereas the LC50 value was 1.77 μg/ml and the LC75 value was 1.90μg/ml,calculated from probit computational method.

Conclusion: Silver-zeolite has the potential to change the ongoing system and bring about a revolution as an Anti-microbial drug. However, the dose must be regulated as it can be toxic in higher concentrations.
