The XVII International Congress of Neuropathology was held in Salzburg, Austria, in September 11–15, 2010. There were 550 participants from all over the world. The scientific and social programs were very well organized by Prof. Herbert Budka and collaborators. A very high quality program has been offered by the scientific committee.
The VXIII International Congress of Neuropathology will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from the 14 to the 18 of September, 2014. Further details of the congress will be announced soon.
ISN travel grant. The ISN will annually award up to 3 grants, each of up to 1500 Swiss Francs, to support visits of neuropathology trainees in developing countries to neuropathology centres of excellence. The primary aim of such visits should be to provide training for the grant recipient and to promote future educational interactions between the host department and that of the trainee.
The application, with a brief explanation of the reasons for the visit and intended benefits, should be made by the trainee's head of department if applicable, or another senior member of staff in his/her institution, and should be accompanied by the applicant's CV. In addition a letter of support should be sent by the head of the neuropathology department in the host institution. The application, CV and letter of support should be emailed to the SecretaryGeneral of the ISN. Applications may be made at any time but awards will be made only in March/April and October/ November each year. The funds will be made available through the host institution.
