Dear Reader,

Over the past year, I became aware of a highly valuable and entertaining service provided by one of my neuropathology colleagues, Dr. Brian Moore in Springfield, IL, USA. As you might imagine, the Neuropathology Blog at http://neuropathologyblog.blogspot.com is somewhat of a gossip column where one can find the latest news regarding our discipline and the members within it. For instance, I was amazed not too long ago to find a story about myself and my impending move to the University of California in San Francisco entitled “Arie Perry Goes West”, seemingly within minutes of my accepting the position! Another blog a few months later entitled “Perry Rocks: Arie releases neuropathology music CD” similarly appeared almost immediately after I created a website for these educational songs. How Brian has managed to obtain this information so quickly is astonishing and perhaps, it's best that we don't know all the details of what becomes readily and quickly available about each of us on the internet! Nevertheless, he has amassed a fascinating array of entries, including: a featured neuropathologist series, a cartoon illustration of hippocampal anatomy, testimony in a high profile medicolegal case by Dr. Mark Cohen at Case Western Reserve University, the 8 U.S. states which still don't mandate CJD reporting, interesting diagnostic neuropathology questions, new book announcements, the 2010 College of American Pathologists (CAP) Neuropathology Education CD‐ROM series, a 2010 forensic neuropathology initiative, “should football be illegal?”, “online biomedical lectures for the blue‐collar neuropathologist”, a CAP sponsored patients' website: MyBiopsy.org, and many, many others, totaling 253 since 2007 at last count.

By no means is this website limited to neuropathology gossip and interesting updates however. It is not likely that one would ever think of looking first for a job at the neuropathology blog and yet, it has recently been touted as having the most complete listing of such positions on the web, at least for the U.S.A. Thanks in no small part to some recent updates provided by Sherry, the wife of Dr. Doug Miller at the U. Missouri School of Medicine, there are currently 25 open positions listed on this site! For those of you looking for a job in the U.S., don't miss out! For those in other countries, one can only hope that other technologically savvy neuropathologists will similarly answer the call. In addition to this service, there are 37 active links to websites of interest to neuropathologists. The mission statement of the website currently reads: “I discuss issues pertaining to the practice of neuropathology—including nervous system tumors, neuroanatomy, neurodegenerative disease, muscle and nerve disorders, ophthalmologic pathology, neuro trivia, neuropathology gossip, and new trends in medical education.” We should all be grateful to Dr. Moore for doing such a fine job with this wonderful resource on his “free time”. Thanks Brian!
