Heliyon is publishing an Editorial Expression of Concern regarding the following article “Discovery of small molecules through pharmacophore modeling, docking and molecular dynamics simulation against Plasmodium vivax Vivapain-3 (VP-3)” by Madhu Sudhana Saddala and Pradeepkiran Jangampalli Adi which was first published 01 May 2018 in Heliyon Volume 4, Issue 5, May 2018, article number e00612, https://doi.org/10.1016/j.heliyon.2018.e00612.
Following concerns raised by a reader, an investigation into the data provided in Figures 8 and 9 of this manuscript was undertaken. While the raw data provided by the authors appears legitimate, in the course of this investigation, the journal received inconclusive and unverifiable statements from the authors as to where the work was carried out and who supervised it. Upon further contact with the alleged supervisor of these experiments, false communication to the authors' benefit was received under this supervisor's name. Unfortunately, the authors have been unable to provide a satisfactory explanation for these concerns.
This expression of concern serves to inform readers about the potential issues related to this article. The authors do not agree with the publication of this Expression of Concern.
