Bryson, Bruce F., New Westminster, BC; McGill University, 1937; former medical superintendent, Riverview Hospital. Died Apr. 28, 2001, aged 90.

Caesar, John J., Mill Bay, BC; University of British Columbia, 1955; anesthesia; FRCPC; former anesthetist, Wellesley Hospital; consulting staff, Princess Margaret Hospital; associate professor, University of Toronto. Died Apr. 23, 2001, aged 72; survived by 2 sons. His obituary stated: “He had enjoyed his medical years and looked back with pride and a sense of fulfilment. He was reluctant to retire.”

Grant, Alfred M., Souris, Man.; University of Manitoba, 1938; MCFP; RCAMC, WW II; former physician, Souris Hospital. Died Apr. 22, 2001, aged 86; survived by his wife, Frances, and 2 daughters. His obituary stated: “Alf retired from medicine in 1995 at age 80, after 56 years in practice.”

His obituary stated: “He was part of the medical team on the first heart transplant performed in Canada at the Toronto Western Hospital. The kindergarten class at Glenlyon-Norfolk School will sadly miss his volunteering.”
