An error occurred in the article by Barkin SL et al, titled “Culturally Tailored, Family-Centered, Behavioral Obesity Intervention for Latino-American Preschool-aged Children” published in the September 2012 issue of Pediatrics (2012;130[3]:445–456; doi:10.1542/peds.2011-3762).
On page 449, column 3, in the section “Variation in Absolute BMI Change Across Initial Weight Categories”, this reads: “Those children who started the trial as obese and were exposed to the intervention had a mean BMI change of –0.80 ± 1.48 versus obese children in the control group who experienced a mean change of 0.08 ± 0.467.” This should have read: “Those children who started the trial as obese and were exposed to the intervention had a mean BMI change of –0.80 ± 1.48 versus obese children in the control group who experienced a mean change of 0.08 ± 0.67.”
On page 450, in Table 1, on line “Child Absolute BMI, mean (SD)”, this reads: “control 17.2 ± 2.21, intervention 16.6 ± 2.35”. This should have read: “control 17.1 ± 2.2, intervention 17.0 ± 2.4”.
