In “Socioeconomic Factors Associated with Fasciola hepatica Infection Among Children from 26 Communities of the Cusco Region of Peru” by Cabada and others (https://doi.org/10.4269/ajtmh.18-0372) the authors would like to issue a correction.
In the first paragraph of the second column on page 1181, it reads “Acute fascioliasis was defined as having a positive Fas2 ELISA with eosinophilia greater than 500 cell/μL and abnormally elevated aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and/or alanine aminotransferase (ALT) enzymes”. This should have said “Acute fascioliasis was defined as having negative stool microscopy with a positive Fas2 ELISA with eosinophilia greater than 500 cell/μL with or without abnormally elevated aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and/or alanine aminotransferase (ALT) enzymes”.
The authors and the Journal regret the error.
