Abstract
HLA‐C*07:02:01:115 differs from C*07:02:01:03 by one nucleotide substitution at position gDNA −243 in 5'UTR.
Keywords: HLA, new allele, next generation sequencing
The novel HLA‐C*07:02:01:115 allele was identified during routine high‐resolution human leukocyte antigen HLA typing of a male volunteer stem cell donor by next generation sequencing using NGSgo‐AmpX, NGSgo‐LibrX, and NGSgo‐IndX kits (GenDx, Utrecht, Netherlands) on an Illumina MiSeqDx platform. Resulting Fastq files were analyzed with the corresponding NGSengine software Version 2.18 (GenDx, Utrecht, Netherlands) and implemented with IPD‐IMGT/HLA Database (Version 3.40.0).
The complete HLA type determined for this sample was A*03:01:01, 24:02:01; C*02:02:02, 07:02:01:115; B*07:02:01, 44:05:01; DRB1*11:03:01, 15:01P; DRB3*02:02P, DRB5*01:01P; DQA1*01:02:01, 05:05:01; DQB1*03:01P, 06:02P; DPA1*01:03:01; DPB1*04:01P, 04:02P.
The novel C*07:02:01:115 allele differs from the common C*07:02:01:03 by a single nucleotide exchange at to date non‐polymorphic position gDNA‐243 (G→C) in 5'UTR (Figure 1).

Alignment of partial 5'UTR sequence of the novel C*07:02:01:115 compared to the sequence of C*07:02:01:03 allele. Identity to the C*01:02:01:01 allele sequences is indicated by dashes. Numbers above the sequences correspond to nucleotide positions
The sequence was submitted to GenBank under the accession number MW192409 and to the IPD‐IMGT/HLA Sequence Database1 under the accession number HWS10060667. The new allele was officially named C*07:02:01:115 by the World Health Organization (WHO) Nomenclature Committee for Factors of the HLA System in November 2020. This follows the agreed policy that, subject to the conditions stated in the most recent Nomenclature Report, names will be assigned to new sequences as they are identified. Lists of such new names will be published in the following WHO nomenclature Report.2
