SPEAKERS NEEDED
The CMA-Student Section is currently launching a new initiative known as Operation THRIVE (The Healthcare Renewal in a Virtual Environment). The goal of this initiative is to create an online repository of videos produced by Catholic physicians and other experts who delve into areas of Catholic bioethics that medical students will face during their training. Having resources available will be an invaluable resource for Catholic students and will serve to strengthen their moral formation, enabling them to be confident witnesses of Jesus Christ during their training and beyond. This an essential part of our mission to make Christ present at the bedside.
We are currently in need of CMA members to create 10-minute videos for students/residents on a variety of topics (e.g. specific ethical issues, how to navigate conscience/residency as a medical student, integrating prayer with medical practice, etc.). If you are interested in being a part of this initiative, please feel free to contact Thomas Seykora (tfs39@georgetown.edu) and the THRIVE team would love to discuss further details, including instructions and assistance in preparing the videos.
More information about the project can be found here:
Suggested topics include:
Incorporating faith into medical practice
OB/GYN related topics
Navigating rotations as a Catholic medical student
Interviewing for residency
Brain death
Conscience protections
End of life care
