Prospective members interested in presenting or submitting an abstract must join AMSSM before the abstract submission deadlines, rather than waiting until the abstract is accepted. Apply for AMSSM Foundation Research Grant Awards ($50,000/Year)

The purpose of the AMSSM Foundation Research Grant Award program is to foster original scientific investigations by members of AMSSM. Completed grant applications must be submitted by November 5, 2021. To be eligible, the primary investigator must be an AMSSM member. AMSSM Minority Research Grant Award ($10,000)
Deadline—February 11, 2022
AMSSM is excited to continue its research grant opportunity geared specifically for researchers identifying as underrepresented minorities. The purpose of the AMSSM Minority Research Grant is to provide research opportunities specifically for historically underrepresented minorities in biomedical research to advance representation across diverse backgrounds and to promote health equity in sports medicine research. The grant provides $10,000 in funding with a due date of February 15, 2022.

Join President Dieringer for NATA Updates and Insights
Starting this fall, members are invited to attend NATA Forward Motion, a new 30-minute live quarterly conversation with NATA President Kathy Dieringer, EdD, LAT, ATC. Each quarter during NATA Forward Motion, Dieringer will share updates, provide insight into various strategic initiatives and address timely topics of importance to members. NATA Forward Motion will be limited to 300 attendees for the live event and is first come, first served. Once the live event is full, NATA will provide an overflow space to ensure that all registered members are able to attend the events or view on-demand at a time that works best for them. At Your Own Risk Debuts New Website
NATA’s public-facing website, www.atyourownrisk.org, is getting a makeover with new content, modern graphics and an interactive map featuring individual state information you can share. The new At Your Own Risk website will provide educational resources and calls to action for key stakeholders as well as a “Hire an AT” section for employers who would like to learn about athletic trainers (ATs), their value, average salary, and settings in which ATs work.
Use the NATA PDC This Reporting Year and Beyond
2021 is a reporting year, and the NATA Professional Development Center (PDC) is here to help you earn your required continuing education units (CEUs) and evidence-based practice CEUs. The PDC offers courses that cover a wide range of topics ATs encounter daily. This includes everything from mental health to telemedicine. PDC visitors can filter courses by level, domain, and course format. In addition, NATA members receive 10 free CEU credits that can be used in the PDC through December 31.
