A male patient [age at onset not stated] exhibited treatment failure during treatment with acitretin and ciclosporin for DITRA related generalised pustular psoriasis [routes and dosages not stated].
The male patient had an early-onset deficiency of interleukin thirty-six receptor antagonist (DITRA) with frequently relapsing typical generalised pustular psoriasis (GPP) with systemic symptoms and a geographic tongue. He was prescribed adalimumab after treatment failure with acitretin and ciclosporin [cyclosporine]. Thereafter, he was in complete stable clinical remission for several months after withdrawal of adalimumab treatment. Later, at the age on 16 years (in September 2020), he had DITRA flare-up secondary to SARS-CoV-2 infection. He received treatment with betamethasone with partial improvement in GPP. A week later, SARS-CoV-2 detection was found to be negative. He was restarted on adalimumab treatment, leading to complete resolution of SARS-CoV-2-induced GPP flare without relapse over a 6 months follow-up period.
