Corrigendum to Role of Testosterone Levels on the Combinatorial Effect of Boswellia serrata Extract and Enzalutamide on Androgen Dependent LNCaP Cells and in Patient Derived Cells

The authors point out a small correction that is required in Figure 9 and a very short discussion point (included below) that was missed out in the published paper.

Protein expression. (a) and (b) depicts the AR & Akt expression in 1 nm DHT and 1000 nm DHT. The intensity of the pixels was measured using Image J software and was plotted against the respective drug concentrations. (c) and (d) shows the expression AR in 1 nM DHT and 1000 nM DHT respectively. (e) and (f) shows the expression of Akt in 1nM and 1000nM DHT respectively.

The following corrections have been made:

  1. The middle panel in 9b was mistakenly the overexposed blot of Fig 9a. We have replaced that with the correct panel in 9b. We also had to replace the tubulin loading control, the third panel in Fig. 9b, which matches with the corresponding Akt data .

  2. We have added the quantitative expression levels corresponding to the Akt results of Fig 9a and 9b. This is shown now as Fig 9e and Fig 9f.

  3. The new figure caption now includes Fig 9e and Fig 9f

In 1 nM DHT condition, a significant inhibition of Akt protein was found in the combination of 25.6 µg/ml BS extract and 1.5µM Enzalutamide which was comparable with that of a high concentration of Enzalutamide 12µM. The same result was observed for 1000 nm DHT at the same combination. Enzalutamide had no effect at 1000 nm DHT.
