Effect of microRNA (miR)-34a overexpression on the apoptosis of A549 and H1299 cells. These cells were transfected with the negative control (NC; 20 pmol/well) or miR-34a mimic (20 pmol/well) for 24 h. After 24 or 72 h, (A) miR-34a expression levels were measured by real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and (B,C) the ratio of apoptotic cells (annexin V-positive, propidium iodide (PI)-negative) was detected and analyzed by flow cytometry as described in Section 2.
