(B) Calcium dependence of the rate constant of SNARE conformational change from simulations in (A), and a fit to Equation 4 . The reference concentration ${[C{a}^{2+}]}_0=50nM$ is set at a typical resting value of a synapse in vivo (Kaeser and Regehr, 2014) and $N=2$. The fit yields the height and width of the activation barrier and the rate constant of SNARE conformational change at ${[C{a}^{2+}]}_0$, which accurately recover the input parameters of the simulations. Parameters are listed in Appendix 3.
