AN INTRODUCTION TO DEBRIEFING

Abstract

The interactive workshop will cover the basic elements of Debriefing. Introduce a tool that can guide debriefs. Allow time for expert modelling and practice using the tools provided.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this session participants should be able to:

1. Identify the three different approaches to debriefing

2. Identify the defining criteria for using the different approaches

3. Describe the value of exploring participant frames

4. Describe the RUST model

5. Use the OPIC (Observation, Point of View, Inquiry/Curiosity) Cognitive aid to practice debriefing in the learning activity

The Sidra Sim Team would run this interactive session with 4–5 team members.
