Quantum theory of Consciousness: A ripple in the existing constructs

PMCID: PMC9129321

Abstract

Consciousness is a riddle that has been fascinating researchers and thinkers since ages. Starting with religion and spirituality to philosophy, psychology and biology, theories have been postulated to explain this riddle. Recent experiments with modern imaging techniques and detail knowledge of anatomy and physiology to the molecular level… nothing really solved this phenomenon called consciousness. Of late there has been some promising developments from the field of physics through Quantum theory. Quantum theory of consciousness has brought paradigm shift in the classical way of conceptualizing consciousness, its biological and molecular constructs. With quantum theory the seat of consciousness shifts from structures of central nervous system towards each random cell and microtubules.

In this proposed symposium we would try to explain quantum theory of consciousness at a basic level, highlight its criticism, vis a vis other prominent theories of consciousness.
