Peer review remains central to the process of scientific publishing and to ensuring that the journals that are published by academic societies such as the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) remain accurate and unbiased. The participation of the membership of the society at large makes their publication a collaborative effort of all of us involved in the scientific study of medicine and efforts to improve outcomes for all of our patients.
