Dear Editor, During the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID‐19) pandemic, a 15‐year‐old black female patient with Caribbean ancestry presented with 2 weeks of a pruritic, hyperpigmented, reticulated eruption on the trunk (a–c), polydipsia, polyuria, and unintentional 20‐lb weight loss. Skin biopsy was consistent with prurigo pigmentosa (PP). Laboratory investigations revealed new‐onset type 1 diabetes coincident with a positive test for SARS‐CoV‐2 IgG. Although there is a known relationship between PP and ketosis, this case raises the possibility that PP and new‐onset type 1 diabetes may be delayed manifestations of COVID‐19. This case also addresses the dearth of images related to PP and COVID‐19 in skin‐of‐colour patients.1, 2
