ISA-IJA Eastern and North-Eastern Supplement- A New Era in Publication and Research

Dear ISAians,

Greetings from Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists National Head Quarters!

It gives a feeling of immense satisfaction and happiness on the publication of inaugural issue of ISA-IJA Eastern and North-Eastern Supplement. Most importantly, it is being released in the Platinum Jubilee Year of formation of ISA. The entire Editorial Board, Governing Council Members and the Office Bearers of ISA State and City branches of East zone and North-East zone deserve appreciation. The team has worked cohesively with rapid pace.

It was the dream of our beloved Dr Lalit Mehdiratta, Immediate Past Editor-in-Chief IJA that ISA-IJA Eastern and North-Eastern Supplement should be published at the earliest. I am sure he must be feeling happy and blessing all of us from heaven. Dr. Sukhminder Jit Singh Bajwa, Associate Editor-in-Chief IJA has worked tirelessly towards the publication of this inaugural issue. Multiple online meetings were conducted by him with the editorial board members. Your Own Secretary had numerous rounds of discussions to ensure the publication of this supplement in the platinum jubilee year of ISA. I am sure Dr. Saikat Sen Gupta, Editor-in-Chief ISA IJA Eastern and North Eastern Supplement will carry forward the legacy of high quality publication of IJA.

ISA-IJA Zonal Supplements are the need of the hour in view of mandatory publishing requirements for post graduates and faculty. This supplement will enthuse further publications from East and North-East zones. It will also provide a platform to nurture the future editors. The editorial board should also encourage interesting and challenging clinical cases in the form of Letter to Editor from private practitioners.

Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists is committed to support ISA-IJA Zonal Supplements and shall ensure that these are published regularly. I am sure the high standards of publication of IJA shall be maintained in the zonal supplements and appropriate peer review process will be followed. This will result in optimum utilisation of ISA resources. ISA National Head Quarters is working towards starting other zonal journals also. The ISA-IJA Southern Supplement shall be released in August this year.

Long Live ISA! Ling Live IJA !

Dr. Naveen Malhotra Your Own Secretary ISA National
