New Missouri Medicine Editorial Board Member

Scott Kujath, MD, FACS, FSVS, is the new Editorial Board member for Vascular Surgery beginning in 2022. Dr. Kujath practices Vascular Surgery, Wound Care, and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy at the Midwest Aortic and Vascular Institute in North Kansas City.

The Boone County Medical Society has new leadership for 2022 (above). Kara Braudis, MD, (left), will take the office of President; John Pardalos, MD, (center), will serve as Secretary/Treasurer; and Albert Hsu, MD, (right), transitions to Past President. The Board of Directors includes Bridget Gruender, MD; Clay Mechlin, MD; Laine Young Walker, MD; and Amy Zguta, MD.

The East Prairie Chamber of Commerce has honored Jimmy Heath, MD, with its Lifetime Achievement award. Dr. Heath, an MSMA member for over 40 years, has served the East Prairie community for several decades. In addition to providing medical care to generations of Mississippi Countians, he has stood as a pillar of his community, serving in numerous civic and leadership roles. This summer, he will close his practice to enjoy retirement – congratulations, Dr. Heath!

Farzana Hoque, MD, MRCP (UK), FACP, has been named as the President of the Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM) St. Louis Chapter. She will serve for the next three years as the only woman on this leadership board.

Dr. Hoque is an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine in the Division of Hospital Medicine at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. She also serves as the Medical Director of Bordley Tower and current Medical Staff Treasurer at SSM Health St. Louis University Hospital.

In a January virtual meeting, the Greene County Medical Society saw a change in leadership (above) as new officers were installed by MSMA President Alexander Hover, MD. New officers are, top row: Minh-Thu Le, MD, (left), President; Sanjay Havaldar, MD, (center), President Elect; James Rogers, MD, (right), Secretary; and bottom row: Jacob Thomas, MD, (left), Treasurer. Immediate Past President Thomas Kuich, MD, (right), was honored for his service to GCMS.

Sam Page, MD, received the American Medical Association Award for Outstanding Government Service in the category Career Public Servant at the Local Level. The award, presented by the AMA upon the recommendation of an independent panel of judges, recognizes local, state, and federal career and elected government officials for outstanding service in the advancement of public health.
