Upon the original publication of this manuscript, errors were noted. This erratum has been published to address the following changes introduced due to production error and that have subsequently been corrected:

The captions in figures 4 to 6 were misplaced under the wrong figures and have been reinstate.

In the “3 Results” section, mention of the incorrect figures have been corrected as follows:

“For the first dataset, we also calculated the interval for 2 and 3 changes (Fig. 4).” should read: “For the first dataset, we also calculated the interval for 2 and 3 changes (Fig. 6).”.

“we calculated the full P-value distribution to provide the complete information (see Fig. 4)” should read: ““we calculated the full P-value distribution to provide the complete information (see Fig. 6)”.

“survival between the groups is significant with log-rank P-value = 0.0021 (Fig. 5)” should read:” survival between the groups is significant with log-rank P-value = 0.0021 (Fig. 4)”.

“This cutoff is (standardized) MSH2 expression >−0.7 and it yields a log-rank P-value of 0.0347 (Fig. 6)” should read: “This cutoff is (standardized) MSH2 expression >−0.7 and it yields a log-rank P-value of 0.0347 (Fig. 5)”.

The Publisher would like to apologize for these errors.
