The authors have recognized citation errors in the first sentence of the Methods and Materials: “This work builds on previously published research (42) and specifically on a paper on the relationship between childhood maltreatment and lead (35).”
Specifically, reference 42 should not have been cited in this sentence. In addition, the citation to reference 35 is incorrect and should instead refer the reader to reference 37. Therefore, the correct sentence reads, “This work builds on previously published research and specifically on a paper on the relationship between childhood maltreatment and lead (37).”
