In the published version of this paper, the authors neglected to mention the IACUC approval for use of morphine in mice that were carried out at the Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the key resources table did not include the source of the morphine purchased in China. The correct statements are as follows.

Experimental model and subject details

Male adult (5–12 weeks) C57BL/6 mice were used for all experiments. All procedures were in accordance with the US National Institute of Health guidelines for care and use of laboratory animals and were approved by Stanford University’s Administrative Panel on Laboratory Animal Care, and were approved by Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, following International Animal Care and Use Committee guidelines.

Morphine in China was purchased from China National Accord Medicines Corporation LTD.

The authors apologize for the oversight.
