Due to accidental copy and paste errors when highlighting respective bands for analysis and then transferring the image from ImageJ to Word, an incorrect gel with incorrect lane numbering was included in the manuscript. We apologize for these inadvertent mistakes and provide corrections below. The conclusions of the study remain unchanged by these corrections.

The figure legend should read:

In the original figure, there were 12 lanes for Fenton’s agent and 200 µg/ml Octaviania asterosperma DCM and methanol extracts respectively. However, due to difficulty in obtaining the entire gel in the same field of view and potential gel artifacts, these lanes were removed. The finding demonstrates that 200 µg/ml of Octaviania asterosperma DCM and methanol extract respectively can protect against DNA damage induced by Fenton’s agent similar to 100 µg/ml of extract respectively, and therefore does not add additional information to the study (data not shown but available upon request).
