A previous version of this article indicated that the Canadian Dental Association (CDA) advises most Canadians to visit a dentist every 6 months. The authors would like to correct this statement and clarify that according to the CDA website, ‘The Canadian Dental Association recommends routinely scheduled reexamination and preventive care as an essential component of maintaining optimal oral health.’ The original article has been updated.
