Dear Editor,
We would like to discuss “Determinants of COVID‐19 vaccine uptake among healthcare professionals and the general population in Cyprus: a web‐based cross‐sectional survey. 1 ” Public health planners can utilize long‐term planning and national campaigns to increase public confidence in national healthcare authorities and promote understanding of the advantages of vaccinations, according to Giannakou et al. 1 Such tactics, according to Giannakou et al., could ensure adequate vaccination uptake and prepare the population for unfavorable events like upcoming pandemics. 1
It is crucial to boost public confidence in authorities, medical professionals, and scientists to increase immunization rates and ensure that skeptics can easily find reliable information. Local public health attempts to control COVID‐19 may face support or opposition depending on a variety of variables. The best example is the fear of vaccines, which has been connected to local healthcare system trust. 2 How prepared a person is to put public health measures for epidemic management during the COVID‐19 outbreak depends on how much trust they have in the public health system in their community. 3 There is evidence that as circumstances change, people's preferences for acceptance change as well. There is evidence that people's preferences for acceptance alter as their circumstances do. Understanding the various reluctant events that occur next is key. Understanding the many hesitation phenomena that result from this is essential. A longitudinal study paradigm should be used to assess the effects of COVID‐19 immunization, local public health activities against COVID‐19, and the worsening COVID‐19 status.
