New Beginnings

PMCID: PMC9941295  PMID: 36824188

The new year brings with it new possibilities.

It gives us an opportunity to assess our past accomplishments as well as to set new goals, both short and long term. The excitement about the opportunities ahead, be they personal or professional, allows for some introspection. It gives us a chance to see how successful we were in attaining past goals and perhaps to evaluate some of the reasons why we fell short of completing some goals.

That said, we should take this time to look at CMTR and see how far we have come over the past years and what lays ahead for us.

To begin, the journal changed publisher 4 years ago, under the lead of the new publisher we have been able to streamline the submission process, bring forth a diverse group of associate editors and a wonderful group of reviewers.

The journal editorial board set some lofty goals, principle amongst them was to put the journal on a path towards obtaining an Impact factor. We had to take stock of where we were as a journal and the changes that we needed to make to position ourselves to the eventual attainment of this goal.

We have been grateful to you our readers for the continued submissions of high-quality original research that moves the CMF specialty forward. We are excited to see what the year brings and to continue to collaborate with you in the improvement of our journal.

We, the members of the editorial board, would like to take this opportunity to extend our very best wishes to you and hopes that you will surpass all your personal and professional goals this year.

With best regards and wishes for a great 2023

Editors-in-Chief
