Effect of cocaine on intestinal epithelial secretion in vitro. Addition of cocaine (100 µM) to the serosal compartment of Ussing chambers significantly reduced EFS-evoked maximal increase (amplitude) in Isc (A) and area under the curve (B) in guinea pig distal colonic mucosa–submucosa preparations compared to control tissues.
