It is an honour to write my first editorial for the journal which has been initiated, nurtured and guided by my esteemed seniors, Dr. Kamini Rao, Dr. Madhuri Patil and Dr. Padma Rekha Jirge since its inception. On behalf of our new team consisting of Dr. Manish Banker, Dr. Sumana Gurunath and Dr. (Col) Sandeep Karunakaran, we thank all those who have contributed to the growth of this journal. We will continue to work hard to take the journal to newer heights and strive for excellence.
In the new issue, we have two reviews, four original articles and two case reports. A systematic review by Dr. Harpreet Sidhu et al. investigates the role of PRP in women with recurrent implantation failure and collates the current evidence which is a much-needed information for our patients and treating physicians. A narrative review by Dr. Padma Rekha Jirge explores the utility of anti-Mullerian hormone and provides a substantial insight for a clinical decision making in women with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS).
There are four original articles in the new issue. One of the cohort studies by Dhar et al. investigates the pathophysiological link between serum zinc level and PCOS by exploring the association between them. A study by Ahmed Abden et al. explores the utility of multivariate scoring system to predict the assisted reproductive technology treatment outcomes which is a useful counselling tool. Berezina et al. explored the association of genes involved in inflammation and placentation with idiopathic recurrent pregnancy loss. The clinical utility of lipid accumulation products and visceral adiposity index for identifying PCOS women with poorer metabolic profile in the Indian population was explored by study authored by Mahey et al.
Out of the two case reports published in the issue, first one focuses on genetic aetiology behind recurrent molar pregnancy which was authored by Mehta et al. The case report published by Rao et al. focused on a rare clinical entity, pseudoxanthomatous salpingitis, and the diagnostic challenges associated with it.
We look forward to receiving more original manuscripts which are scientifically and ethically sound.
