The Journal carried out an investigation into this article after issues with some figures and data were highlighted to the Editors.
In this article, the saline panel Samsn1MKO in Fig. 2 and the saline panel Samsn1WT in Fig. 4 appear as duplicated and the top of Fig. 4 LPS Samsn1MTG and the bottom of Fig. 8 CLP Samsn1MTG appear also as duplicated and represent different experiments. This gives the Editors no confidence that the quantitative data that is presented is correct.
The scientific community takes a very strong view on this matter and apologies are offered to readers of the journal that this was not detected during the peer review process.
