Erratum: “Technical note: Heterogeneity dose calculation accuracy in IMRT: Study of five commercial treatment planning systems using an anthropomorphic thorax phantom” [Med. Phys. 35, 5434–5439 (2008)]

The authors report an error in the published paper.¹ The variation in dose between the dose calculations and measurement for the low-dose critical structures was not reported correctly. The correct range for the low-dose critical structures is an underestimation of 14.9% to an overestimation of 11.2%. While this is reflected correctly in Table I of the aforementioned publication, it was not stated correctly in Sec. III on p. 5437 and in Sec. IV on p. 5438.
