Human fibroblast interferon gene lacks introns

Abstract

A recombinant λ bacteriophage isolated from a human genome library contains the gene for fibroblast interferon (IFN-β1). The DNA sequence of this gene is identical to the sequence of its mRNA and is devoid of introns.
