While the majority of signals corresponding to keratin fibres and lipids remain unchanged, the area highlighted by the close-up view of (A) showed slight differences at the region corresponding to intermediate filaments. (B) and (C) the SAXD data of untreated hair vs. permed hair. Peaks are shown at 90 Å, 47 Å and 27 Å. Increased 47 Å peak and decreased 27 Å peak intensities are observed.
