Dear Colleagues,
I write to you as we face a worldwide pandemic, and our world is changing more rapidly than we could have imagined, even a couple of months ago. The stark impact of inequities is so devastating at this time. I acknowledge the many brave people working in so many roles that we now recognise as essential: the health professionals but also all those amazing people providing services—essential supply chains, services and deliveries.
I wish all of our geriatric dentistry community the best of health. Never has that meant as much as it does now. I want to acknowledge our Associate Editors, Editorial Board, Wiley staff and all of our authors, reviewers and colleagues around the world. Thank you so much for continued work in such challenging times. This situation has only reinforced the vulnerability of so many in our communities, particularly the older adults, and we need to work relentlessly towards equity and basic needs for all. This is a new world, we are now working remotely, teaching online and videoconferencing like never before—hopefully, we can seize those opportunities to enhance collaboration and better outcomes for those for whom we want a better quality of life. Given the world is likely to change, I hope we can seize the opportunity to ensure this new world is driven by appropriate values, underpinned by social justice.
We have to be brave!! Keep well!!
