Banner Specifications
PMC maintains a single-link banner for each full participation journal, NIH portfolio journal, or selective deposit collection. This banner integrates publisher branding at the top of the PMC article view for each journal or collection. See the specifications and examples below.
Full Participation or NIH Portfolio
- Size: Height: 75 pixels; Width: 500 pixels
- Format: PNG or JPG

Content requirements: All banners -
- Must be legible
- Contain the full or common version of the journal title
- Must be static, i.e. no moving objects
- For banners with a white background, apply a minimum 1px dark border
- Follow existing text and color contrast standards defined by Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and Section 255 of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended (47 U.S.C. 255), which include W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0 AA) success criteria.

Linking: By default, the banner is hyperlinked to the article via the article's DOI URI. A persistent URI of the publisher’s choice may be provided instead of the article DOI linking option.
- File naming: logo-journalname.png/.jpg
- Alt-text: PMC uses the wording “{JOURNAL TITLE} logo"
- Delivery: Send via email or upload your banner to the PMC FTP site.

Selective Deposit Collection
- Size: Height: 75 pixels; Width: 500 pixels
- Format: PNG or JPG
- Content requirements: All banners -
- Must be legible
- Contains the name of the collection or the publisher
- Must be static, i.e. no moving objects
- For banners with a white background, apply a minimum 1px dark border
